Forty-seven communities worldwide, including Madison, will participate in foursquare’s annual hackathon this weekend with the intent to develop apps, according to the organization.
SnowShoe, which develops innovative tech solutions for mobile platforms, will play host to area hackers at 9 a.m. Saturday at 640 W. Washington Ave. Suite 201. Food, refreshments and wifi will be provided.
The hackathon serves to promote foursquare’s new Connected Apps platform, which allows third-party apps to integrate directly into foursquare.
Prizes for the apps that receive the most votes worldwide include ringing the NASDAQ closing bell and tickets to SXSW.
