It’s one chapter in the book.

That’s how StartingBlock Madison Executive Director Scott Resnick described today’s groundbreaking ceremony of the Spark building where StartingBlock will reside.

“To imagine a vision of several entrepreneurs to make this project a reality … it’s a bittersweet moment,” Resnick said. “We look forward to what the future holds.”

As previously reported, construction of the Spark building is expected to be complete by 2019.

American Family Insurance is a lead sponsor of the project, which will include office space for gener8tor and the Doyenne Group, among others.

“The Spark is a first-class, sustainable building (that will) help revitalize a corridor in Madison,” AmFam CEO Jack Salzwedel said. “(The Spark) signifies collaboration, innovation and entrepreneurship.”
