Startup enthusiasts, local developers and entrepreneurs were busy this past weekend as both Startup Weekend and 3 Day Startup held their events at the MGE Innovation Center and MadVentures CoWorking, respectively.

Startup Weekend ended with You CAN Beer taking top honors, Brew Hub coming in second and PeerPear finishing third. Participants spent 54 hours on business model creation, coding, design and market validation.

According to organizers, 30 students participated in 3 Day Startup Madison, which was hosted by Transcend Engineering. The 72-hour event was geared toward University of Wisconsin students.

“3 Day Startup is all about experiential learning, so you truly get out as much as you put in,” 3 Day Startup Lead Organizer Mike Fix said. “That being said, the attendees were enthused, willing and engaged throughout the event.”
