Propeller Health’s respiratory management system was used to reduce asthma burden in a recent study published in the healthcare journal Health Affairs, the company announced recently.
According to a release, study participants reduced rescue inhaler use by 78 percent and saw a 48 percent improvement in symptom-free days. AIR Louisville collaborated with 25 public, private and philanthropic organizations to use digital health technology to improve asthma.
“Propeller is committed to using the data we collect across thousands of patients to better understand where, when and why respiratory symptoms happen so that we can help people live healthier lives,” Propeller Health Vice President of Research Meredith Barrett said in a statement.
Propeller Health’s inclusion in the study also involved changing Louisville’s municipal policy recommendations, including tree removal mitigation, zoning for air pollution emission buffers and recommended truck routes.
