Swallow Solutions has been acquired by the Idea Fund of La Crosse for its SwallowSTRONG medical device, the company announced recently.

According to a release, the Idea Fund paid $500,000 and created a new portfolio company to acquire the device, called Swallow Therapeutics. However, the acquisition will not impact Swallow Solution’s remaining business operations.

The SwallowSTRONG device treats dysphagia with a custom-molded mouthpiece and software that work together to help patients perform a regimen that improves tongue strength.

Swallow Solutions ended sales of SwallowSTRONG in June 2018 due to “diminished” demand, according to a blog post.
