Maurice Cheeks, formerly of Filament Games, has been named the director of the Wisconsin Innovation Network (WIN), the Wisconsin Technology Council announced today.
“I’m excited about being able to contribute to the great work the Tech Council does,” Cheeks said. “I’m also looking forward to being a part of the high tech and high growth sectors of Wisconsin.”
Cheeks, who begins his new role today, also serves on Madison’s City Council. The native of Matteson, Ill., had served as Filament’s director of sales and outreach since 2012.
According to Cheeks, his experience in the tech world also includes launching a startup in Virginia and working for another startup in San Francisco.
Cheeks, 29, replaces Molly Lahr, who left last month to become the COO of Branch2.
