Telematic announced today it will join four other startups as the second class in the Global Insurance Accelerator (GIA) located in Des Moines, Iowa.
GIA’s 100-day program begins Feb. 9 and focuses on developing and growing innovative insurance-centric startups.
“I’m looking forward to developing long-term relationships and learning insurance companies’ pain points better than I do now,” Telematic Co-Founder Marti Ryan said. “My main goal is to problem solve with them and get a paid client.”
According to a release, Telematic will receive a seed investment of $40,000, office space, one-on-one mentorship, business development training and access to the GIA’s network of insurance executives and carriers, investors and industry leaders. In exchange, GIA receives a six percent equity stake in Telematic.
Ryan will be joined by Co-Founder Thomas Yates for the first week before he returns to Madison to manage Telematic’s launch in Alpha mode, she said.
At the end of the accelerator program, the participants will present at the Global Insurance Symposium in Des Moines.
Telematic’s SaaS platform monitors both car driving and mobile phone usage behaviors that will provide insurance companies with a 360-degree view of their insured.
