C-Motive Technologies, Flex Compute and Thalchemy each will receive a $75,000 SBIR Advance grant, the University of Wisconsin-Extension Center for Technology Commercialization and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation announced today.
“This is a very competitive grant,” SBIR Advance program manager Dr. Todd Strother said in a statement. “We find that the highest-scoring companies demonstrate a willingness to embrace Lean Startup practices for customer validation and show quantitatively how these funds can speed their path to commercialization.”
Thalchemy’s grant was announced in July.
Additionally, four other companies will receive the grant funds, three originating from Milwaukee and one from Wauwatosa.
SBIR Advance grants are used for commercialization activities that will accelerate business development and improve company opportunities.
