The third annual Transcend Madison startup competition for University of Wisconsin students will be held April 4-5 at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, the organization announced recently.

The university’s first student-led innovation competition includes the new Early Stage Competition (April 4) and the original Main Stage Competition (April 4-5), with prizes of $5,000 and $50,000, respectively.

Early Stage entrants will be judged on a 10-min. pitch on their business idea that isn’t fully developed, while Main Stage entrants will compete in two rounds.

Past winners have included Linectra and Emonix.
