Salus Discovery and Nutrient Recovery and Upcycling will each earn up to $75,000 in matching grants from Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Advance, the Center for Technology Commercialization and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation announced recently.
“SBIR Advance continues to provide winners with needed customer validation and opportunities to solve business needs,” SBIR Advance program manager Dr. Todd Strother said in a statement. “It’s unique in the nation and has garnered recognition throughout the country.”
Salus Discovery develops new innovations within a wide array of application areas including infectious disease diagnostics, drug discovery and cancer biomarker development. Nutrient Recovery and Upcycling develops technologies to help wastewater treatment plants create valuable fertilizers from the nutrients in their wastewater.
Both companies are based in Madison.
