Four University of Wisconsin innovators and alumni who advanced the Wisconsin Idea through their accomplishments in entrepreneurship earned the Chancellor’s Entrepreneurial Achievement Award at a ceremony held Thursday night at the Discovery Building.
The awardees were Winslow L. Sargeant, CEO of Purple Team Technologies; Wesley Schroll (CEO) and Tyler Kennedy (Co-Founder) of Fetch; and Anne Smith, Co-Founder of the University of Wisconsin Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic.
“This year, we celebrate how UW alumni, students and faculty shape the entrepreneurial ecosystem and drive the economy in our state and beyond,” Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin said in a statement. “From a pair of student founders who created the country’s fastest-growing digital rewards and marketing platform; to an electrical engineering Ph.D. who built a far-reaching career as an entrepreneur, executive and small business advocate; to a lawyer whose teaching and service influenced a generation of entrepreneurs, these exceptional individuals are models for our campus, alumni and community.”
The Chancellor’s Entrepreneurial Achievement Award has been given out each year since April 2011, with the exception of 2019-21.
