Veterans looking to start a business have a new avenue for assistance.
VETransfer, Inc., which helps bridge the gap between military life and entrepreneurial life, will be using a $300,000 grant to launch VictorySpark, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) announced today.
VictorySpark provides veteran-initiated companies $20,000 of seed financing for a small percentage of equity in their startup. These companies also get to participate in a seed-accelerator program focused on growth.
“With support networks like VETransfer, military veterans will continue to be a vital part of growing Wisconsin’s economy,” Gov. Scott Walker said in a statement.
WEDC and the Global Accelerator Network announced the grant in July. Entrepreneurs may apply at the VETransfer website.
