Gov. Scott Walker said Thursday in his weekly radio address that he is devoting nearly $6 million toward small-business entrepreneurs in his proposed 2013-15 state budget.
The money will be used for two programs. The first, the Seed Accelerator, provides networking and guidance on business planning. The other, the Capital Catalyst, provides financing to help small-business entrepreneurs grow their companies.
“Small businesses are the engine of Wisconsin’s economy,” Walker said. “By lowering our overall tax and regulatory burdens, and investing in tax credits and programs to foster small business creation, we’re doing more to move that engine forward.”
Walker also has set aside $25 million for a state investment capital bill.
