To support women-led innovative ventures in the state,the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation awarded the Doyenne Group a $200,000 grant, the organization announced today.
According to a release, the Doyenne Evergreen Fund will provide $400,000 in early-stage capital coming from a WEDC Capital Catalyst Program grant and matching funds raised by Doyenne.
“The Doyenne Evergreen Fund is designed to offer more than just a source of capital,” Doyenne Group Co-Founder Amy Gannon said in a statement. “In addition to financing, our goal is to surround these entrepreneurs with experienced mentors that will guide them on strategic business decisions critical to their long-term success.”
To be eligible for the fund, a business must include at least 50 percent ownership by women, a Wisconsin headquarters and 51 percent employment in the state. Also, the products and services must show innovation within its industry, which includes advanced manufacturing, food processing, information systems or software and renewable energy.
