The Doyenne Group and WiSys have been awarded a grant by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), the organization announced today.
According to a release, the grants help organizations working to provide training, financing, mentorship, technical support and more to entrepreneurs and prospective entrepreneurs, especially women, people of color, the LGBTQ community and rural residents. In Madison, the Doyenne Group received $90,000 and WiSys was given $106,000.
“Wisconsin stands behind its innovators and business owners,” WEDC CEO Missy Hughes said in a statement. “These grants help organizations across the state provide advice, funding, education and other support to entrepreneurs of all backgrounds.”
Overall, 12 organizations in Wisconsin working to support entrepreneurs were awarded nearly $1 million in grants.
Applications for the next round of grants are open until Aug. 31.
