A total of 84 investments amounting to $252 million were made in Wisconsin startups last year, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation announced recently through its 2018 Deal Flow Snapshot.
Both the capital invested and the number of investments increased, as the $252 million is a $119 million increase over 2017 and a $37 million increase over 2016. In addition, 74 investments were made in 2017 compared to 79 in 2016.
According to the report, the 2018 results were dominated by multiple companies maturing and raising significant funds, which indicate “a maturing ecosystem with quality companies attracting significant capital.”
