Wellbe.me announced recently it has teamed up with UW Health to create TotalCare, an online program designed to help improve the overall experience of patients admitted to UW Health for total joint replacement surgeries.
Working to serve patients and their families, TotalCare allows all knee, hip and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) replacement surgery patients to educate themselves about all aspects of the joint replacement process through an iPad or a computer, according to a release.
“Our relationship with UW offers us the unique opportunity to work with a world-renowned academic medical center to drive new innovations with digitally enabled models of care,” Wellbe.me CEO James Dias said. “We are excited that our friends, families and neighbors in Wisconsin will be able to benefit from the use of this new tool.”
The TotalCare service is offered to all patients free-of-charge. UW Health enrolls patients at the time of their scheduled surgery, and access to the program–including timely instructions on patient care, how-to videos and even feedback surveys–remains open throughout the entire rehabilitation process.
