Wisconsin Investment and Strategic Capital (WISC) Partners announced recently that it raised $8.2 million for its first fund.

“We are very pleased to be contributing to the creation of a vibrant early stage venture community here in the great state of Wisconsin,” WISC Partners General Partner David Guinther said in a statement.

According to the company’s blog post, the funds were raised entirely from 29 individuals, with more than half from Wisconsin.

The five Wisconsin-based companies in which WISC Partners invested are Imbed Biosciences, Murfie, Pegasus Sustainability Solutions, Rowheels and Wellbe.
