The 2022 Wisconsin Youth Entrepreneurs in Science (YES!) youth business plan contest is now accepting online entries from Wisconsin middle and high-school students through 5 p.m. April 13, organizers announced recently.
As previously reported, the statewide program, modeled after the Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest, strives to foster student interest in science and tech education.
“Leveraging technology, thinking creatively and working as a team are all important characteristics for today’s entrepreneurs,” Wisconsin Technology Council President Tom Still said in a statement. “Entrepreneurial skills are vital to the long-term success of Wisconsin’s youth, as well as the state’s innovation economy.”
Students that are interested will first submit a 250-word summary, and the students who advance to the next round will expand their idea into a 1,000-word executive summary.
Place finishers in each category are eligible for cash and prizes. The grand prize winner will present their business plan at the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference in June.
